Membership in the club costs nothing. The card is made on the spot at the Ocean Club desk, inside the casino next to the Coral Reef Gift Shop. Bring valid ID, because the desk requires it.

In Manitoba anyone under 18 is a minor, and minors may not take part in gaming. A guest who appears underage must prove their age with ID. The shop next door keeps its own hours: Sunday to Wednesday from 11 am to 7 pm, Thursday to Saturday from noon to 10 pm.

Playing slots on the casino floor adds points to the card, and each 400 points converts to $1 in Beach Bucks. After 12 months with no activity the points lapse, so a card left idle for that long loses its balance.

Simply put, points give back a little of the money that has already gone into the machines. They are not a reason to play, or to stay on the floor longer. Decide on a spending limit for the night before you reach the casino, and treat any Beach Bucks as change, not income.
